For Individuals

Expat Taxation

Moving abroad? You'll still file US returns every year, but with the right planning, much of what you earn overseas can be excluded from US tax. We'll make sure you capture every deduction and exclusion you're entitled to.

Moving to the USA

Moving to the US? We handle your compliance and advise before you arrive, from first-year filing status to foreign pensions to treaty benefits, so the decisions that shape your US tax bill get made deliberately.

US Real Estate

Buying US property has tax consequences at purchase, during ownership, and at sale. We structure the acquisition, handle the annual filings, and plan the exit, including FIRPTA for foreign sellers, with legal partners on hand for entity setup.

Filing Back Tax Returns

Missed offshore filings carry heavy penalties, but IRS streamlined programs let most taxpayers catch up at little to no cost. We know these cases well and will get you current through the right program, quickly.

For Businesses

US Outbound

Expanding internationally? We're the strategic partner for the tax side, practical advice aligned to where you're headed, and hands-on support through implementation. The questions we tackle:

  • Should you incorporate in the local country?
  • What entity type makes sense?
  • How does US tax law affect your foreign operations?
  • How do you bring offshore profits home?

US Inbound

Coming into the US market? We handle the tax side end to end: educating you on how the US system works, finding the structure that fits your goals, and running your federal compliance so your time goes to the business.
Questions we settle early:

  • How should you structure your US operations?
  • Is a C Corp or LLC better?
  • How do you bring US profits back home?
  • What is transfer pricing?

US International Tax Compliance

International compliance rules are intimidating and burdensome. Good news: we're very good at them. We'll analyze exactly which filings apply to you and keep every one of them covered, including:

  • Form 5471, foreign corporations
  • FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR), foreign bank accounts
  • Form 8938, foreign financial assets
  • Form 8865, foreign partnerships

Withholding Tax

When you pay a foreign person, the withholding obligation falls on you, the payer. Paid interest to a foreign lender? Hired foreign contractors? Running a partnership with foreign partners? These can all trigger US withholding taxes. We'll analyze your payments, apply any treaty rates that lower what you owe, and handle the associated compliance.

FATCA questions? We have the experts for those too.

Common questions

Do I need to file US taxes if I live abroad?
+
In most cases, yes. US citizens and green card holders file annually on worldwide income no matter where they live. The good news: exclusions, credits, and treaties often reduce what you actually owe, sometimes to zero.
What is FBAR and does it apply to me?
+
The FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) reports your foreign financial accounts. If the combined value of your non-US accounts topped $10,000 at any point in the year, you likely need to file it. Penalties for missing it are steep, so when in doubt, ask.
How do your fees work?
+
Fees depend on the scope and complexity of your situation. We'll give you a clear picture during your initial consultation, before any work begins.
I haven't filed US taxes in years while living abroad. Am I in trouble?
+
Probably less than you fear. The IRS offers streamlined programs for people who fell behind without meaning to, and many taxpayers catch up with little or no penalty. The key is coming forward before the IRS comes to you. We handle these cases regularly and can walk you through the right path.
Do you work with clients in other states or countries?
+
Yes. Our clients are spread across the US and around the world, and international tax is what we do every day. Between our offices and secure remote tools, where you're located is rarely a barrier to working together.
When should I reach out, before a big move or after?
+
Before, whenever possible. Some of the most valuable planning happens ahead of a move, a sale, or starting a business abroad, when there's still time to shape the outcome. That said, it's never too late to get things on track, so reach out whenever you're ready.
